Safae LAHGAZI ALAOUI is an Afro-Arab from the cross-section of American culture and Moroccan upbringing. A Muslim femme who knows the only lasting truth is Change. A believer in a just and joyful future. She is pursuing the art of story through filmmaking and has previously written and directed, Aisha & Khadija, a short film about coming of age. She isn’t afraid to tackle the shadows with some humor and nuance.

Sanae LAHGAZI ALAOUI is a creative and community organizer who dreams of alternative worlds. Born in Fes and raised in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco with a Moroccan father and American mother, Sanae is made of many influences and cultures. With professional training in sociology and informal training in poetry and visual art, Sanae spends most of her time in social justice work organizing in Atlanta, US while creating art that attempts to break down social constructs. She believe that we cannot go anywhere without practicing expression and creativity because it allows us to play with our reality and unlearn social constructs in order to create alternatives. Telling stories, filmmaking, and writing poetry are some of her favorite ways of doing this.
